Welcome Back Students!

To kick off the first semester OUSA KRC is having an open day (9AM on Saturday the 12th of March). We will have a range of kayaks available for all abilities. If it is your absolute first time in either a surf ski or a racing K1 then bring a wetsuit or thermals and warm change of clothes with you. We will have a few spare wetsuits but first in first served. We will have a brief orientation with danishes and doughnuts before heading out to either the marina or harbour for a paddle (depending on conditions and abilities).

Matanaka Caves Trip

matanaka

Over the Easter break we headed out to the Matanaka caves and kayaked down Pink Cathedral cave (the second longest known sea cave in the world). We also found the entrance to Matainaka cave a cave system that is 1.5km long! We will organise a trip out there in the second semester (once it warms up a bit) with the white water club. For photos of the trip check out the OUSA KRC facebook page. The next club trip will be out to the caves of Caversham.

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

Every Sunday morning there is a social paddle for all Dunedin kayakers (or out of town visitors). Meet at 0900/9AM at the marina boat ramp (beside the Otago Yacht Club at approxmiately 25 Magnet Street). Paddlers of any craft (sea kayaks, surf skis, race boats, multisport boats, waka) are all welcome, but you must be confident paddling your kayak. A great way to meet other recreational kayakers from around Dunedin and gain a few training buddies!
